NovaOracles: a personalized astrology platform

NovaOracles is a personalized astrology platform that calculates natal charts and tracks current planetary transits against them in real time. The product transforms astronomical data and individual calculations into personalized daily insights, available in five languages.

At a glance

  • What it is: A personalized astrology platform
  • Platform: Web app, in the browser
  • Languages: English, Turkish, German, French, Bulgarian
  • Built with: Next.js on Cloudflare
  • Our scope: Astronomy engine, web app, readings and content

What problem does NovaOracles solve?

Most astrology apps repeat generic sun-sign text or let a chatbot improvise, so the reading has little to do with the person's own chart. NovaOracles was built to change that. It reads today's real sky against each person's exact birth chart and gives them one clear reading every morning, computed from their own chart and the actual positions of the planets. The readings are offered for reflection: the product states plainly that it does not predict the future, and it keeps birth data private, with no selling of data and no ads run against it.

Who is NovaOracles for?

NovaOracles is for people who want a reading that follows their own chart. A newcomer can start with the free tools (birth chart, rising sign, compatibility), the glossary and the guides that explain the terms. Someone who already reads charts gets the full wheel, live transits and the sky of any past day, and can check the engine on the accuracy page. The product and its content come in English, Turkish, German, French and Bulgarian.

How was NovaOracles built?

We designed, developed and launched NovaOracles end to end: its own astronomy engine, the web app, the personal readings and the content around them. The engine is the core. Instead of reading from a printed table or letting a model guess, it computes the apparent positions of the Sun, Moon and planets for any moment, and the natal chart, transits, moon calendar and best days all come from that one calculation. Around it we built a product that takes about two minutes from birth details to a first chart. Without an exact birth time, the chart is computed for noon and the approximate parts are marked.

The project brings together three of our services:

Which decisions shaped NovaOracles?

Compute the sky ourselves

A reading is only as good as the positions under it. The engine uses VSOP87 for the planets and a Meeus Moon, and every screen reads from that one source. That is why the natal chart, the transits, the moon calendar and the daily reading cannot disagree with each other. The engine is also checked in public: the accuracy page lists its output next to NASA JPL Horizons, and a check script compares each row with the tolerance printed on that page. For each body the page shows the engine's value, the JPL value and the difference between them.

Mark what is approximate

Many visitors do not know their birth time. The product does not turn them away and does not pretend: it computes the chart for noon and marks the parts that are approximate. The noon default and the markers are written into the product itself.

Open tools first, account second

The birth chart, rising sign, compatibility, lunar calendar and retrograde tools are open to everyone, so a visitor sees a real result before deciding anything. The first chart is free, and one plan covers the rest, billed weekly, monthly or yearly. The public pages live on novaoracles.com, while sign-in and the account live on app.novaoracles.com, served from the same deployment. That keeps the public site and the signed-in screens apart.

Teach the terms next to the tools

Astrology is full of vocabulary. A glossary and guides sit beside the tools, so a visitor who meets an unfamiliar term can look it up without leaving the product. A journal carries the longer explanations.

What is NovaOracles built with?

NovaOracles is a web app built with Next.js and served through Cloudflare. At its core is its own astronomy engine, built on the VSOP87 planetary theory, which computes the positions of the Sun, Moon and planets to the arcminute. Every feature takes its data from that engine, so the natal chart, the daily reading and the free tools always agree with each other. The content is published in five languages: English, Turkish, German, French and Bulgarian.

Where and in which languages does NovaOracles run?

NovaOracles runs in the browser with nothing to install. It is a Next.js application deployed to Cloudflare, with the public site and the app on separate hosts. Accounts and data sit in a managed database. The site, tools, guides and glossary are published in English, Turkish, German, French and Bulgarian, and each language has its own pages. The About page names OZGN Studio as the builder.

What does NovaOracles offer today?

Today NovaOracles gives each user a personal reading every morning, a full natal chart with every planet, house and aspect drawn as an interactive wheel, and live transits against that chart. Subscribers also get a daily tarot card, Bonds (the sky between two people), Your Year, the best days to act chosen from their own chart, and the sky of any past day. Free tools such as the birth chart, rising sign, compatibility and lunar calendar are open to everyone, along with a journal, guides and a glossary. The first chart is free, and one subscription plan covers everything, billed weekly, monthly or yearly.

What does NovaOracles not do?

NovaOracles does not predict the future. Its readings are offered for reflection, and the About page says so. Birth data is not sold, and no ads run against it.

What would we keep next time?

We would start from the same place: the engine first, then the screens. A product that shows planets needs numbers it can defend, and a finished engine makes every later feature easier to add and easier to check. We would publish the comparison with JPL Horizons again, keep the free tools open, and write the approximations into the interface instead of a footnote. We would also keep treating each language as its own writing job, because five languages mean five sets of tools, guides and glossary entries.
